Ng Ka-ming graduated from the Hong Kong Conservatory of Music in 1983; he studied violin with Lin Kek-han and Carl Pini. He studied conducting with Professor Huang Xiao-tong at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and in London with the famous conductor, Klaus Tennstedt, in advanced conducting courses.
Ng Ka-ming has performed many times in Israel, Cyprus, England, France, Australia, Malaysia, and Singapore. He worked with the Halle Orchestra, National Youth Orchestra of Scotland, Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Guangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra.
Ng Ka-ming is currently a conductor of the Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra, together with which he gave performances in Shanghai and Beijing. Under his directorship, the orchestra gave performances in Singapore, Malaysia, Guangdong Province and Macao administrative district; in 2010 he made an ambassador visit to Shanghai with participation in exchange program with the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Symphony Orchestra and in performances during the Week of Hong Kong of the World Expo held in Shanghai. In 2012, at the initiative of Ng Ka-ming, the musicians of the string group of the orchestra took part in the International Youth Music Festival in Vienna, Austria.
